The Caroline Detention Facility (CDF) is currently accepting applications for full-time employment. The CDF offers a competitive insurance package, VRS membership, hazardous duty supplement for sworn staff, training, uniforms and a complimentary meal per shift. 
CDF employees must possess a valid Virginia Driver’s License and a valid Social Security Card issued by the U. S. Social Security Administration.
Minimum age for non-security staff who have no contact with detainees is 18 years. (i.e., Detention Specialist)
Minimum age for all security staff and non-security staff with detainee contact is 21 years. (i.e., Detention Officers, Librarian, Janitor, Religious Services Coordinator, Maintenance Tech, etc.)
All employees must have a high school diploma or equivalent and successfully complete the following:
• Federal Background Check
• E-Verify
• Drug Screen
• Tuberculosis Test
• Medical Physical
• Physical Fitness Test*

Operates the Control Center, the communications hub of the facility, including emergency communications;
Monitors and controls the access and departure of staff and visitors into the facility from the central Control Center;
Assigned to duties at the Receptionist desk during visitation.
